How it works
Pulse adds a Pulse item to the YouTrack main menu and reads the articles of the project you choose in the app settings:
Project “Blog”
├── Engineering ← root article = a blog (a tab in the header)
│ ├── Our new CI setup ← child article = a post
│ └── Lessons from on-call
├── Product
│ └── What's new in October
└── Company news
└── Welcome, new teammates!- Blogs are the root-level articles of the project. They appear as category tabs in the header.
- Posts are the child articles of a blog. Their first image becomes the cover on the home page.
- Comments are the article comments.
- Bookmarks are article stars.
- Likes are stored on each post.
There is no separate database. Everything Pulse shows lives in your YouTrack, so it is covered by your YouTrack backups, permissions and search.
Comments and threads
- Comments under a post are the comments of its article in YouTrack, so they show up in the Knowledge Base and send the usual notifications.
- Reply to any comment to start a thread. A reply is a regular article comment with an invisible reference to the comment it answers. Threads have one level: a reply to a reply joins the same thread.
- Likes on comments are YouTrack comment reactions.
- Sort threads by Top first (most likes and replies), Newest first or Oldest first.
